We gave a 2015 Stilettos Fiesta Medal to our Barista this morning, who is new to San Antonio. Like a good new resident, he is trying to learn everything he can about this city-wide holiday, and he was thrilled to get his first Fiesta medal. Somehow he was under the impression that Fiesta is a three MONTH party rather than a three WEEK one. (It's three weeks if you count all the before and after parties. And we do!) As most long-time San Antonio residents know, explaining Fiesta to foreigners can be difficult. "People go CRAZY for Fiesta Medals, you see. No, they didn't actually WIN anything..." You try it.
But it's the last weekend for Fiesta 2015, and it's been a great one. But with all the puffy tacos, gorditas, antichucos, beignets, and 8 oz beers, our waistlines, as least, are secretly glad it's coming to an end. (We're shooting a destination wedding in Cancun next weekend, after all. Eek.)
