Come Flood or High Water, This Wedding was Happening

If you live in San Antonio, you probably remember May 25, 2013, even if you DIDN'T get married on that day.
We had a bit of rain here in SA that day. Ok--we had a whole LOT of rain. As in--twelve whole inches of rain. Which is more, I believe, than we have had in the last three drought-stricken years put together.
Many folks here were thrilled. After all, we NEED the rain; have been, in fact, PRAYING for rain.
But if you were planning an outdoor wedding in the beautiful Hill Country, just north of town, you were probably praying that the rain would hold off--just at least a bit.
Meet Maria and Davin--two incredibly lucky people. Sure, they are lucky because they found each other, and they are obviously madly in love. (Ok, that is REALLY lucky--but we're not stopping there.)
They are lucky because by 2 PM that day, the clouds broke, the sun came out, and the standing water at their wedding site, well--disappeared.
They are also lucky because after their family and friends worked furiously to move the entire wedding indoors, most of that same group worked at an even quicker clip to get it all moved back outside again once the weather cleared up.
And they are lucky because their country-fabulous wedding was—well—fabulous. Beautiful hand-made touches were everywhere—from the river stone signing rocks to the pink lemon aide.
So congrats to Maria and Davin—and a special shout-out to their amazing family, who worked incredibly hard to pull it all off. Someone get a crown for those fine folks!
